Employment and Internships at Eagleton
There are several opportunities for students to get involved with the work
of the Eagleton Institute of Politics, both directly and through its various
centers and programs. Most internships are unpaid, but Rutgers students may be able to receive credit, depending on the position. Credit for students from other institutions is also possible, subject to the home school's rules.

Research internships
Student interns can earn academic credit for their work in CAWP's
research and information services areas. Interns help collect data
on the numbers and location of women in public office and assist
in research projects on women in Congress and on policy issues.

Program internships and other opportunites
There is occasional need for student interns to work on many of CAWP's programs, assisting with the planning and implementation of conferences for young women interested in politics and work with women public officials. Volunteers and workstudy students also assist CAWP in its work, helping out with clerical tasks, assisting in data collection, and conducting web-based research on women and politics.

Student
interns can earn academic credit working with the New Jersey Project's research, education and service activities related to achieving
better campaigns in New Jersey. The work includes monitoring specific
campaigns, data entry, researching campaign practices in other states,
and collecting information on the initiatives of other academic and
nonprofit institutions engaged in reforming campaign conduct.

Undergraduate
and graduate students can earn academic credit at the Eagleton Center for Public
Interest Polling. Interns gain practical experience in all aspects
of survey research, including include sampling, questionnaire design,
focus group recruitment, project management, data analysis, and report
writing depending on what project contracts the Center is working
on.
