Public Education Programs

The Program on Immigration and Democracy sponsors lectures, symposia, panels, and other public programs designed to create co mmunity-wide dialogue on immigration-related issues and to apply knowledge and research to the policy challenges of our time.

Not only do we attempt to bring academic resources to bear on immigrant policy questions, but also we seek to create pathways for community input into our work. This kind of community engagement helps us refine our research and public education agenda and enables us to hone in on the most pressing public policy challenges. Moreover, in the current highly-charged climate, in which misinformation and extreme rhetoric are all too common, our public education work takes on special importance.
