Seema Singh recently ran as the Democratic candidate for the New Jersey State Senate in 14th Legislative District. Singh was rate counsel for the Division of Rate Counsel under the New Jersey Department of the Public Advocate. Singh has served on the State of New Jersey’s Renewable Energy Task Force, the New Jersey Clean Energy Council, the Governor’s Advisory Council on Volunteerism and Community Service, the board of directors of the National Fuel Funds Network, and the New Jersey International Education Task Force. She also served on the Executive Commission on Ethical Standards for the State of New Jersey and the Asian American Commission. Singh has chaired the Governor’s Asian Studies Commission. Singh is president of the Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce; board member of the National Conference for Community and Justice; and on the Board of Visitors of New Jersey Institute of Technology. She was president of the Rotary International Club of Plainsboro and a founding member of the Hindu International Council Against Defamation. She established the Asian Women’s Safety Net and has served as co-host of New Jersey Network’s “Asian Indians in America.” Singh is a graduate of Seton Hall School of Law, Rutgers University, and Calcutta University in India.
