Judy Shaw has been widely recognized as one of the first and most able women to break ground in the top ranks of administrative leadership in New Jersey state government. Ms. Shaw was the first woman in New Jersey's history to hold the position of Governor's chief of staff, having filled that post for Governor Christine Todd Whitman. Ms. Shaw has held numerous other senior positions in state government, including chief of staff in the New Jersey Department of Transportation; prior to that, she was the director of marketing Page 9 for the New Jersey Lottery. She served as a statewide director for the successful re-election campaign of Governor Tom Kean. She has held a gubernatorial appointment to the state's Merit System Board and currently serves for the Governor on the New Jersey Cultural Trust. Ms. Shaw also has extensive experience in the private sector, as a founding partner in the Trentonbased consulting firms The GluckShaw Group and Public Policy Advisors, Inc. Ms. Shaw received a BA from Pennsylvania State University and a MPP from Rutgers University. She is a former member of Women Executives in State Government's National Board, a former director of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and a former president of the Leadership New Jersey Alumni Association. She is the co-founder of the Leadership New Jersey Issues Index and the recipient of the YWCA of Trenton's Woman of Achievement Award, the Delaware-Raritan Girl Scout Council Woman of Distinction Award, and the Women's Political Caucus' Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award; she was also named one of Rutgers University's Fifty Finest. Most recently, Ms. Shaw has been chosen to serve as a member of the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Advisory Board at Rutgers University and is co-chair of the Public Policy Center of New Jersey.
