ZULIMA V. FARBER

Farber has been at Lowenstein Sandler PC since 1981 and became a member of the firm in 1986. She has more than 30 years of extensive government service and court experience on both the state and federal levels. In 1992 and again in 2006, Farber left the firm to serve as the New Jersey public advocate and public defender in former Governor Florio's cabinet and as the attorney general in Governor Corzine’s cabinet. Before going to Lowenstein Sandler, Farber served as assistant counsel to Governor Brendan Byrne from 1978-1981, and as assistant prosecutor in Bergen County from 1975-1978.

Farber was chairperson of the Hudson County Improvement Authority from 1985 to 1990 and a member of the boards of trustees of Jersey City Medical Center, Farleigh Dickinson University, Liberty Healthcare Systems, Inc, and is currently a member of the board of the Institute for Social Justice. She also serves as a member, and former chairperson, of the New Jersey State Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights. In 1983, Farber was president of the Hispanic Bar Association. She has been a member of the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Criminal Rules, the Committee on Evidence Rules, and the Committee on Character. From 1982-1985 she was a member of the Supreme Court Task Force on Court Interpreters and Translators.

Farber received her BA and her MA from Montclair State College before earning her JD from Rutgers School of Law-Newark.
