Albert Burstein is currently an attorney and partner at Herten, Burstein, Sheridan, Cevasco, Bottinelli, Litt & Harz in Hackensack. Burstein was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly from 1971-1981, where he served as the majority leader, twice chairman of the Assembly Education Committee and chairman of the Joint Committee on the Public Schools. During the same period, Burstein served as the New Jersey Commissioner and chairman of the National Policy Committee for the Education Commission of the States. In the early 90's he was the chairman of the Education Funding Review Commission. Burstein has been actively involved in ethics and rules of professional conduct. In 2006 he received the Daniel J. O’Hern Award from the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. He is a current member of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission. He received his LLB degree from Columbia University Law School and also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he earned a bronze star for his military accomplishments.
